Meet Dynasonic, a three-piece ‘dubwave’ ensemble whose unique sound blends bass-heavy dub with modern electronics and field recordings, creating a hypnotic and mesmerizing experience. The natural repetitiveness of their music brings to mind the ebb and flow of waves, but its experimental electronic elements remind us that these are not calm waters we’re sailing on.
The band has been honing this formula on their two previous albums, #1 (2019) and #2 (2020), which also feature remixes by Jack Sienkiewicz and 1988, as well as alternative and extended versions of their tracks on the #2bootleg (2020) release.
On April 1st, 2023, the band released their third album, self-titled “Dynasonic.” Produced once again by the American master console engineer The Norman Conquest, this album marks the first time the band has recorded without any guest musicians. On this record, we hear the influence of raw Berlin dub techno (notably, mastered by Stefan Betke, aka Pole, whose work has undoubtedly influenced Dynasonic), as well as the dense and smoky atmosphere of the western Polish borderlands.
This is the heaviest and most genre-defying album in Dynasonic’s history. It’s not the calm dub that lulls you into a peaceful state, but the kind that dangerously gurgles below and threatens with the looming disaster. Beneath the surface, tectonic waves clash and massive forces gather, creating tension and unease.
