no book worth its salt is meant to put you to sleep, it’s meant to make you jump out of your bed in your underwear and run and beat the author’s brains out
Dancing Lessons for the Advanced in Age
We get upset when our coffee loses its flavor, when books are missing their pages. We get upset when publications lie fallow, when we grind coffee beans too finely. We used to get upset when we were kids: when we were shown cold display cases in museums, when the authors of school reading books adopted the populist tone. We want to prove today that we can put our irritation into action, that, alongside brilliant reads and tasty coffee, we can offer something else – a place where art, reading and activism intertwine.
TRAFO Books & Coffee features publications on architecture, design and alternative music, albums and exhibition catalogues, literature on art theory, culture and philosophy, books for children – all surrounded by contemporary art exhibitions. The shows where we break display cases, lick exhibits, burn the extremes, and wash everything down with good coffee.
