The festival KIDS LOVE DESIGN has gained recognition both in Poland and abroad. It is the first design festival in Szczecin and the first design festival addressed to Polish children. Its 6th edition, scheduled for Autumn 2017, will be held under the motto: “two heads are better than one”.
Szczecin-based ARTmosphere foundation has been introducing children to the concept of design since 2012. The festival offers an exemplary educational and cultural program, proving “for children” is not equivalent to “childish”. Original concepts, care about quality and innovative initiatives on the borderline of social activities, make the festival one of most awaited events both by young and older visitors (children, parents, students, designers).
The exhibitions and workshops featured in the program of its 6th edition will be based around the culture of cooperation. Beata Kuracińska, the founder and curator of KIDS LOVE DESIGN explains: “This year, we are going to focus on projects resulting from cooperation between the designer and the local community. The works will be examples of dialogue and community involvement. We will show initiatives whose end product is not the sole contribution of the designer or artist”.
Every year, KLD embraces the concept of design in an accessible and free manner. The arrangement of the exhibition space gives children a place to play, create, learn and experience design.
