To mark the closing of the exhibition “Undressing from Sleep. Rycharski. Hasior”, we warmly invite you to a special event – a guided tour of the exhibition with Aleksandra Trybuła, an art conservator at the Tatra Museum who has spent years preserving and safeguarding Władysław Hasior’s legacy.
Rather than a conventional tour, this will be an intimate conversation on the art and craft of conservation – exploring why artworks require a period of “rest” after traveling, the challenges of preserving fragile materials, and the paradox of Hasior himself, who initially wished his works to surrender to the passage of time, only later to entrust conservators with the challenge of safeguarding them for the future.
The talk will be rich with anecdotes and insights from the daily life of a conservator – a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of caring for the oeuvre of one of the most significant Polish artists of the 20th century, and to hear how his legacy continues to live on today – poised between the idea of transience and the practice of preservation for future generations.
