For Oslo-based international art duo, First Place in the Table? was an impulse to form an analogy between the exhibition and a match of soccer. “In the midst of two worlds” was their site-specific work, created for the show in Szczecin. It is a “work in progress” – a simulation based research project in which the artists featured in the exhibition are footballers, and the gallery space is the pitch where the match is played.
Both in art show and football struggle, Martinka Bobrikowa and Oscar de Carmen are interested in relations, systems of power, rules and patterns of operation, as well as the attitude of the artists themselves to the position they occupy in the game. The fanzine is a creative interpretation of the above dependencies.
