Let’s Meet Tomorrow Before the End of Our Time

If physical meetings are impossible, what shall we do to make collaboration with people from other countries be as accessible as collaboration with partners from our own universities? Can the Internet be used to form an international group whose members will not only collaborate, but also become real friends and empathise with each other? Is the Internet the only channel for sharing knowledge and experience internationally? Are meetings via video-conferencing platforms the only way to conduct a remote meeting between several people? What can we do to physically experience co-existence despite being in disparate places? How can we understand each other and share emotions remotely?

Let’s Meet Tomorrow Before the End of Our Time is a gathering during which we plan to discuss new practices that will allow for building remote transnational, transcultural and translinguistic relations. We hope to search for a completely new space for satisfactory remote co-existence.

The first day of the symposium is focused on the subject of cultural differences. On the second day we will discuss collaboration and co-authorship, equality and responsibility in collaborative groups. The third day will be devoted to the issues of the digital technologies that help remote collaboration, co-being and sharing knowledge. The symposium starts on the 25th of May at midnight Polish time, and ends on the 27th of May at midnight Ecuadorian time. The event is organized by the Social Film Studio in partnership with the universities of Ecuador and Taiwan: Department of Fine Art, Tunghai University, Taichung Graduate Institute of Transdisciplinary Art, National Kaohsiung Normal University, Kaohsiung Universidad Central del Ecuador, Quito.
