TRAFO Trafostacja Sztuki in Szczecin presentation as part of Szczecin promotion during Kontejnery k světu (Containers for the world) festivalin Pilsen in the Czech Republic.
Kontejnery k svÄ›tu was a unique project taking place simultaneously in Pilsen, Prague, Ostrava, Brno, Olomouc, ZlÃn and Mariánské LáznÄ›. Containers revitalizing public spaces and creating international and interactive cultural exchange network were placed in various locations across the cities.Â
During the festival the containers became temporary cultural venues. The activities ranged from theatre, through modern art to architecture and fashion. The location and function of the containers responded to wants and needs of the particular neighborhood. Â The aim was to link the city centers with their suburbs and thus bring a new impetus into empty and lifeless locations.
Jumbo screens connected the cities, and visitors were able to watch the festival in other locations.
Pilsen РEuropean Capital of Culture 2015 boasted the broadest range of artistic events. Over 30 containers were placed across the city offering among others: an art gallery, a movie theater, a music club, a library, a photographic studio, an observatory, a caf̩, an organic food-store.
Szczecin, Pilsen’s twin city, presented its cultural heritage in a container situated in the prestigious location of Pilsen Town Square. In addition to TRAFO, the container featured several institutions and organisations including 13 Muses (13 Muz), Academy of Arts (Akademia Sztuki), OdraZoo Art Gallery (Galeria OdraZoo), Szczecin Incubator of Culture (Szczeciński Inkubator Kultury), Artist and Art Producers Association (Stowarzyszenie Twórców i Producentów Sztuki, Camera Association (Stowarzyszenie Kamera), Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, Szczecin University of the Third Age (Szczeciński Uniwersytet Trzeciego Wieku), The West Pomeranian University of Technology (Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny) as well as internet portals www.wszczecinie.pl and www.borninszczecin.pl.
The event had a great media coverage across the Czech Republic.
