Bogna Burska’s exhibition Division is a multi-stranded transmedia narrative of the incongruity of our ideas and mental clichés, of symmetrical conceptual constellations and false simplifications in times of the global dominance of populist narratives.
A common theme is the relationship and mutual overlapping of fiction and reality, abstractions and facts. The exhibition refers to the dystopian and paradoxical coexistence of mutually exclusive orders (philosophical, socio-cultural, political), which nevertheless effectively characterize the face of our present and can be easily adapted to the new phenomena of today’s world.
Bogna Burska’s art is sometimes described as a fusion of critical art and aesthetic reflection. The exhibition shows works by the artist from recent years, presenting her work in various fields ranging from – as in her most recent works – abstract painting to film, drama and theatre.
