TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art in Szczecin and the Academy of Art in Szczecin have a pleasure to hold a meeting with Natalia Vatsadze, a Georgian artist, activist and independent curator, co-founder of the Tbilisi-based performative group Bouillon Group.

Natalia Vatsadze – artist, Activist, independent curator, one of the founder and member of performing art Group Bouillon Group based in Tbilisi Georgia. In her works in which the body is always in the center she with cynical humor questions and criticized social, political and cultural processes than have accompanied the development of Georgia as an independent state in the last years.

The Artist Talk is part of the ZONA LAB “The Infinite Nature of Borders” residency program, which is part of the CULTURE MOVES EUROPE initiative, funded by the European Commission and implemented by the Goethe-Institut. ZONA LAB provides a space for artists exploring the concept of borders in their various dimensions—geographical, cultural, and conceptual.

During the meeting, she will talk about her individual and collective work, her experiences of functioning at the intersection of art and activism, as well as ways of artistic response to social tensions in the context of contemporary Caucasus. She will also talk about her project implemented in Szczecin as part of the ZONA LAB residency, presenting its assumptions and inspirations.
